This chair is great! We bought it for our daughter's nursery. I have never breastfed, I'm a first time mom, but this chair seems really firm and I can comfortably sit up or lean back. (We bought an ottoman to go with it). A lot of reviews said it was really difficult to put together, however, my husband and I had it together in about 30 minutes. The base was the hardest part. You have to insert the metal pieces to screw the bolts into and we did not have them pushed all the way in, then they were too far, so we just had to adjust them a little. I recommend trying the bolts in the different holes before putting all the pieces together for assembly. We used a phone flashlight and a long screw to get it into the right position.As for the back, be sure to insert the bottom screw (as the instructions say), but only hand tighten them, insert the bolts on both sides and hand tighten(used the flashlight again to be sure holes were lined up), then tighten them all as much as you can. You need to be able to move the back up and down in order to line holes up right. It will be a lot easier to assemble with 2 people.No issues with sliding while rocking on a wood floor, I think it slides back just a little when I get up, but I don't even notice it. I practiced getting up with a baby via our cat.It feels extremely sturdy and durable, rocks super quiet. It is firmer, but for me that is important while breastfeeding and it is comfortable for me as well, cushions break down over time, so I fully expect it to soften.The massager is loud, but no louder than chairs in a spa. The lumbar feels really good too.My husband has already spent a lot of time sitting in it and taking it in, I can comfortably lean my head back on the chair, I'm 5'8". My husband can as well, he is 6'.I think that addresses a lot of the issues people had in their reviews that made me a little concerned about ordering the chair, but we absolutely love it.
